The V980 was designed specifically for Vodafone, although a generic version, the V975, was released at roughly the same time to support other customers.

Vodafone Releases 702MO And 702sMO Phones

Vodafone K.K. today announces that as part of its new 3G lineup it will commence sales of the Vodafone 702MO, a clamshell 3G model by Motorola, on 11 December in the Kanto-Koshin region with a nationwide rollout thereafter. The Vodafone 702sMO, a candy bar style 3G handset also by Motorola, will be offered from 17 December in the Kanto-Koshin region and other regions afterward.
While sporting different designs, the Vodafone 702MO and 702sMO have common features. Both of the 3G models have integrated twin cameras on the back and front so customers can easily enjoy seeing and hearing one another while video calling.
The main features of the Vodafone 702MO and 702sMO are as follows:
