Hi!

I've had this weird proto phone lying around in my drawer for a few years and thought now to find out more about it.
Apparently it's a Ericsson Futaba, but there's no ericsson logos in it so i guess it's an even earlier prototype.
The battery is a bit loose, but it does boot and can access sim and i think it might be ok to make a call with it.
Software is very ascetic and crashes easily.

Put up some pictures of it here: http://teekark.pp.fi/images/album/futaba/

What can you tell me about this? :geek:

what bothers me is "Infineon" branding on battery . is there any possibility do disassemble phone and take some clear pcb photos?

Yeah it even says in the battery that it's engineering sample. I also have the charger which has a removable wall socket and also removable cord to the phone. It's branded Ericsson, but made in Finland by Salcomp.
I'll see if i can open the phone without too much hassle. OR at least update the pics with pictures of the charger soon.

Uploaded pics of the charger & top of the pcb. Other side is completely covered with a plate.

Any idea how rare are these? I'm thinking of selling this probably :)

Hi! Thanks :) That might stir some interest...

You can use the pics as you like. I tried to find that type of phone in your library here, but apparenty it can't be added because of missing TAC identification. There's no markings on the phone, but the IMEI i extracted from it (via USB) pointed to newer ericsson model. I dont have that info at home now, but i'll check it out again tomorrow at work.

Thanks!
Missing IMEI or TAC isn't problem for this very interesting phone so I've added it!

This is what the USB reports:

New USB device found, idVendor=0bdb, idProduct=100d
New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3

Tried looking at IMEI.info and got this

Hello, thanks!
This TAC (004601) refers to Ericsson prototypes. TAC started with zeros assigned fot test (not type approved) devices. Ericsson used this TAC for its almost all prototypes. I've seen Hedvig and K800 protos with this TAC and we haves some here too:
