| Hi Thomas. Great phone. So I am curious, do you know if this actually was the very first bag phone model made by Motorola ? I see it uses the Dynatac 2000X handset. I thought that the America Series 820 bag phone was the first model, but could be wrong now. The 820 phones uses a different style of handset too, but still has the same LED display. These type of very early bag phones are very hard to find now. Cheers, Chris. | |
| Hi Chris ,
Many Thanks! Yes, this mobile phone must have been one of the first. I found it on Ebay.com and this was the first time ever that I 've seen a bag phone from Modar Communications Inc. 8-)
The complete story of the bag phones I unfortunately do not know, as Motorola unfortunately does not offer complete list of mobile phones produced by them .
I believe that the first bag phones have come in 1990 to the market.

| Definitely one of my favorite bag phones. Love the warm yellowish glow that the keypad backlight has. | |
