This bag phone is unique to the original Motorola bag phones in many ways. It is the only model to place the controls, loudspeaker, and display on the transceiver instead of the handset - a design which was carried over to the current M800 and M900 bag phones. It was also the only model to contain a built-in hands-free microphone. Also unique is the LED display, similar to that used on some DynaTAC and MicroTAC phones. Finally, the transceiver does not offer the DB-25 data connector which is standard across all other car, transportable, and bag phones. Does not offer a battery level meter, despite other phones of the time containing the feature. The bag is also unique, being composed of one large internal compartment and a small external compartment in which to house a battery.
