It is just a wrong photo/scan. It not exists in different color.
And yes, next time I will post a link of working phone connected to my private network or AMPS testset. Depends on what comes first.

Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeCool! Oh and I spotted a GridCase in the background of one of the pics. What model is it?
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeYes, it is Gridcase 1500 with the red plasma screen. Works but attached DOS floppydisc looks like erased of what. Just i can not boot.
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeGreat! I am very happy that you fulfilled your dream!
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeHi Thomas,
thank you! Yes I tried to ask You about possible sale or rent but I knew the result before. In the end I was lucky and with money at the right moment. It is much better. You need to keep your Motorola collection completed and I need one piece as my property. Now it looks like all two pieces are here in the Europe. I have bad news about next two phones. They´re gone, destroyed probably. It looks like two phones exists right now, no next pieces! We are the first and the last lucky collectors.
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeHi,
Yes, Jack wrote to me that the two others probably no longer exist. I'm happy for you, that you have one in your collection now! Cheers Thomas
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeIt is sad but what we can do. Just keep the prototype and prevent any next loss. It is very first AMPS/modern handset, the 1973 prototype is based on IMTS service.
I have big Christmas now and It is amazing piece. I like to keep the proto in my hands. And I am looking forward when the battery cells will be replaced and I will try to real phonecall. In case of interest, let me know and I will explain how You can get it turned on. It is really easy! Now I have my collection covered of all the 1981-84 cellphones and I can go to next step, Japanese cellphones, make my collection greater and rarer I have few days with thoughts like "maybe it is much easy to keep only few rare phones and nothing next?". But I have lot of interested phones right now and I am collcecting over 14 year. I sold my collection in 2011 and few months later I had bad feelings. The vintage cell phones are one of my best things in my life.
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeTwo of them were destroyed? What happened to them?
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeBoth pieces were in the collection of one person. Sorry but I can not text any details here, it is private and I have no permission to publish anything. :/
Re: Motorola DynaTAC PrototypeThat’s okay, I totally understand.
